The ready-made desserts or cakes from dry mix are very popular. On weekends, Americans fry hamburgers on open fire, and on holidays they serve baked turkey and pies with fruit fillings.

Chicago Pizza

A recipe based on a popular Italian dish was invented in 1943 by chefs Aik Sewell and Rick Riccardo. Culinary specialists have changed the usual order of ingredients: they suggested first laying the cheese on the cake, and only then filling and sauce. Chicago pizza is like a tall pie, it's made from medium and thin dough.

Products for the base:
  • white flour - 200 g;
  • water 150 g;
  • flour with bran - 30 g;
  • butter - 30 g;
  • sugar - 30 g;
  • olive oil - 15 g;
  • yeast - 4 g;
  • salt - 7 g.
Filling:
  • bacon, smoked sausage, jerky - 600 g;
  • tomatoes in its own juice - 400 g;
  • mozzarella - 300 g;
  • onion - 200 g;
  • Parmesan - 50 g;
  • olive oil - 30 g;
  • garlic - 2 cloves;
  • basil leaves - 10 g;
  • thyme - 1 branch;
  • salt and black pepper - to taste.
Procedure:
  1. Pour salt, sugar and yeast with warm water. Immediately pour both kinds of flour and add butter. Mix the food with a spoon, then knead the dough with your hands.
  2. Put the billet in a bowl, cover it with a food film and send it to heat for 1 hour.
  3. Chop thyme, basil and garlic with a knife.
  4. Cut the onions into cubes, and the meat and sausage with straws. Scrunch the cheese, chop the tomatoes.
  5. Fry the onions until transparent, add garlic and greens to the pan. After 10-15 seconds, add tomatoes, salt, sugar and pepper. Cook the sauce over medium heat until the liquid evaporates.
  6. Roll the dough into a round layer, lay it in a detachable shape with high sides. To make the base not burnt, cover the bottom with parchment. Lay out most of the mozzarella, then meat and sauce. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake pizza for 20 minutes at a temperature of 200 ° C. Sprinkle the finished dish with Parmesan cheese.
Before serving, decorate the treats with basil leaves.

Chicken wings of Buffalo

A traditional American dish for a barbecue is cooked on charcoal. The treat is so popular in the US that the "Chicken Wing Day" holiday was invented in its fourth. Celebrate the Chicken Wing Day on July 29th. Appetizing dish is usually served to a table with vegetables and a spicy tomato sauce.

Ingredients:
  • wings of chicken - 500 g;
  • hot sauce - 90 g;
  • wheat flour - 80 g;
  • butter - 50 g;
  • seasoning for chicken - 10 g;
  • garlic - 2 cloves;
  • cayenne pepper - 2 pinch;
  • salt and black pepper - to taste.
You will also need vegetable oil to lubricate the grate.

How to cook:
  1. Cut the wings around the joints, remove the last phalanges.
  2. Mix the flour with cayenne pepper, salt and seasoning. Roll the workpieces in a dry mix and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Roast the wings on the grate until it is ready.
  4. Combine the hot sauce with the butter. Add chopped garlic and ground pepper. Warm the mixture over medium heat without boiling.
  5. Combine the hot wings with sharp filling and leave the treat for 5 minutes.
Serve the dish with blue cheese sauce, yogurt and garlic.
